It’s Hosanna in the highest!

THERE were great celebrations in Nationalist House last week when news emerged that one of our own reporters, Hosanna Boulter, had scooped a major national award at the Local Ireland Media Awards.
Hosanna, a news and features reporter with , was named Young Journalist of the Year at the awards ceremony, which was held in the Mullingar Arms Hotel on Thursday 17 September.
Hosanna first joined last October as part of the Regional Graduate Programme and made an immediate impact, covering stories across a wide range of beats.
The judging panel said she was selected for the award on the strength of three articles: one concerning the closure of University Hospital Waterford’s pathology unit; an investigation into students at SETU Carlow sleeping in their cars due to a lack of affordable accommodation in the town; and her interview with industrial school survivor Mary Dunlevy Greene, who went on hunger strike outside Leinster House for 51 days.
Hosanna said she was “quite surprised and honoured” to have been chosen for the award.
