High praise for dedicated firefighters

Carlow Fire Station

FOLLOWING a devastating fire at her home in Chapelstown, Carlow earlier this year, Anne Curran (83) expresses her deepest gratitude to the firemen in Carlow and Tullow Fire Brigade who came to her rescue.

CAN I please take a moment of your readers’ time to thank the firefighters in Carlow and Tullow Fire Brigade for being so helpful to me following a substantial fire in my home earlier this year.

Like angels from out of the dark night they came, ensured I was safe and went into the blazing hallway and bedroom of my home and put out the fire.

They treated me like I was all that mattered to them, staying with me until I was handed over to the ambulance personnel and my concerned family members, who both also did so much that morning.

We are blessed in this county to have such people watching out for us, no matter who we are.

I lost my beloved husband Noel just after Christmas last and miss him dearly.

The firefighters took care of me and my feelings of vulnerability on this awful morning of the fire. Noel would rest well, happy to know I was in good hands.

To you all, I say thanks to each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.
