‘Grease’ was electrifying in Scoil Chonglais

THIS year’s musical in Scoil Chonglais, Baltinglass was electrifying, when more than 100 students got involved in a production of Grease.

“It was fantastic, it went really well,” said teacher Wilma Murphy, who was one of the ten teachers involved in staging the impressive production.

It was a whole-school affair with students from every year putting themselves forward, from learning dance steps, singing songs on stage and getting stage and lighting details right or greeting and seating the audience at front of house.

Over three nights, Wilma reckoned about 1,000 people came to see the show, which starred Abbie Kelly as Sandy and Ashton Pender as Danny.

The school would like to thank all who came to see the show, the business community who supported it and the parents’ council for its donation as well as helping out on the show nights.
