ALMOST €3,000 was raised in the county by participants in the Goal Mile 2024 to support the aid agency’s lifesaving humanitarian work around the globe. Goal Mile is the agency’s flagship fundraiser, which is proudly supported by AIB and led by local organisers in 200-plus locations in every county across of Ireland as well as in the USA and Africa during the Christmas season and extending into New Year.

Three Goal Miles were held in Co Carlow – at St Laurence O’Toole’s in Carlow town, Palatine GAA and St Mullins GAA.

“The Goal Mile has been running in the St Mullins community for the past two years,” said organiser Ann Harris.

“It is a fantastic fundraising event at such a special time of year. My favourite  memory of this event is to see all ages of the community taking part. I would encourage everyone to come out on the St Mullins GAA Goal Mile day, have fun and support the organisation’s humanitarian aid programmes,” added Ann.

As an Irish humanitarian agency, Goal has a proud history over the last 48 years of delivering life-saving aid and development programmes in some of the world’s most fragile countries and to some of the world most vulnerable communities. Nationally, over €750,000 was raised for the aid agency through 2024’s Goal Mile.
