Garda investigation launched after €50k of cocaine seized in Rathvilly

GARDAÍ are appealing for information after they seized cocaine worth €50,000 in Rathvilly.

The detective unit operating from Carlow Garda Station searched a piece of open ground in Rathvilly village on Friday 23 August at 6.30pm as part of an investigation. Drugs, which they believe to be cocaine with a street value of €50,000, were found.

No arrests have been made yet as gardaí continue their investigations.

Superintendent Anthony Farrell complimented the garda members involved in the operation, saying that it was a victory in their battle against drugs.

“Drugs ruin lives and have a devastating effect not only on the user but also their extended social network of family, neighbours and friends,” said Supt Farrell.
