Foodie fest, Big Barn Bash, for Coppenagh Farm, Tullow

THIS Halloween, Coppenagh House Farm, just outside Tullow, will host the debut Big Barn Bash, a family food festival.
On Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November between 11am and 5pm each day, there will be live cookery demonstrations, family entertainment, outdoor activities and farming heritage.
The festival will kick off with the inaugural Coppenagh 5km Carlow chase for runners, walkers and families. Participants wearing their official event medal will receive free admission to the Big Barn Bash on both days of the festival.
Renowned chefs Rachel Allen and Edward Hayden will join Virgin Media presenter Deric Ó hArtagáin at the food zone, where local artisans will showcase their produce. There will be family friendly activities in the active zone and a dedicated kids’ experience with farm-themed games and entertainment.
The festival is "a fantastic addition to Carlow's festival calendar," said leas-cathaoirleach of Carlow Co Council cllr Paul Doogue, noting that it "promises to become one of the county's premier family festivals".
Eileen O'Rourke, chief executive of Carlow Tourism, which is involved in delivering the festival, said it "reflects the identity of County Carlow." She noted how the experience will encourage visitors to stay longer, explore more of the county and support local tourism and hospitality businesses.
Ciara Stanley of Coppenagh House Farm said she is delighted to welcome visitors to the farm for the inaugural event.

Festival admission includes access to all main attractions, entertainment zones, cookery demonstrations, family activities and live entertainment.
Admission: family ticket (two adults and two children) €40 each day, adult €15, child €10 and children under three go free.
