Finance guru, Robert Whelan was named CEO of the year at the annual Business Post Leadership Excellence Awards

CARLOW businessman Robert Whelan was named CEO of the year in the small business category at the recent annual Business Post Leadership Excellence Awards.

In 2012, Robert founded wealth management company Rockwell and now leads a firm managing over €300 million in assets for more than 5,000 clients. The judges thought that his dedication to excellence and community impact makes him a truly deserving winner.

After completing his BComm in UCD, Robert worked in Cornmarket for ten years. Following the financial crash, he decided to start his own company in 2012. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength, offering a range of services in financial planning, pensions, investment and wealth management for individuals, business owners and SMEs.

Robert grew up on the Tullow Road in Carlow town and was educated in Bishop Foley National School and Knockbeg College. His family are well known local musicians and had a music shop in the 90’s on the Staplestown Rd. Now living in Dublin, Robert has three young children and in his spare time he is a voracious reader, podcast listener and lifelong Liverpool supporter. His wife Helen also works in the business, as managing director of their mortgages operation.

Robert said: “This award is a testament to the dedication of everyone at Rockwell. Our clients are at the heart of what we do, and our commitment is to help them secure their financial future so they can focus on what truly matters in their lives. We’re here to provide expert advice, supported by innovative technology with a deep understanding of each client’s unique needs and goals.”
