AN INCREDIBLE five decades of business, from humble beginnings to becoming global leaders, was celebrated at Burnside Autocyl recently.

Burnside Autocyl marked its 50th anniversary as the team in Tullow took time out recently to reflect on the remarkable journey that has brought them to this milestone.

The business opened its doors to all employees, their families and friends to see the inner workings of the firm and to view where their friends and relatives work daily as a team to make Burnside Autocyl a success.

The younger visitors greatly enjoyed seeing the robotics in action and getting to learn about how the machinery works.

Since the founding of the company in 1974 by the four Byrne brothers from Graiguenaspidogue, it has grown from a small start-up to a global leader in hydraulic cylinders.

Today there are three separate Burnside companies in Co Carlow, making it one of the largest employers in the county.

Over the past five decades, the company has overcome challenges, adapted to changing times and continued to innovate and excel in everything it does. The company therefore has every reason to celebrate 50 years of excellence.
