EqualVibes offers social event for all

EqualVibes hopes this will be the first of many such events across the country
AN EVENT promising a great evening out for people with disabilities will take place in Ballinkillen Lorum Community Centre this Sunday, 18 August, from 6pm to 8.30pm.
EqualVibes hopes this is the first of many such events across the country, aimed at enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities by offering a regular, enjoyable and supportive social outlet where they can be themselves, have fun and make lasting connections. “I have a son with special needs, he’s 25 and autistic and there was nowhere for him to go to interact, so I go fed up of this and decided to do something about it,” said Aisling Delaney, who has organised EqualVibes. “The reaction to it has been great, especially from other mothers and fathers in the same boat. It’s an opportunity to bring them out and enjoy themselves, and the carers, too,” she added. This Sunday there’ll be music and dancing, with lots of surprises planned, too. Tickets cost €15 from Eventbrite or at the door.
