Emergency homeless hub seeks staff
The Good Shepherd Centre in Kilkenny
THE Good Shepherd Centre, a homelessness charity based in the south-east, is recruiting staff for its new cold weather emergency accommodation hub in Carlow town. The service, which will be open from 9pm to 9am, will provide six emergency overnight beds to protect those most at risk during periods of cold weather.
The Good Shepherd Centre is seeking staff for both full-time and part-time positions.
Chief operating officer of the Good Shepherd Centre, Ciara Quinn, has appealed to the local community to spread the word about the launch of the centre and to help it find committed staff.
“This service will save lives. When temperatures drop, getting people into warmth and safety is the most important work we can do,” she said.
“The Good Shepherd Centre has supported people experiencing homelessness in Carlow and across the south-east for many years and this initiative builds on that work. We are asking the community to share this message and help us find compassionate, committed staff to run this essential service,” she said.
