Drunk man found with knife down trousers
The incident was widely circulated on social media
GARDAÍ arrested a man who was seen outside a pub in Carlow intoxicated and with a knife down his trousers on Saturday night. Footage of the incident showing the kitchen knife being taken from the man’s trousers was circulated on social media over the weekend.
The incident happened outside the Salt Bar on Tullow Street at around 10pm on Saturday 7 September. Gardaí were called to the scene and arrested the man, who is in his 60s.
He was brought to Carlow Garda Station, where he was charged with being in possession of a knife and the public order offence of being intoxicated.
The man, who has no previous convictions, was released and is due to appear before Carlow District Court on 25 September.
