PHOTOGRAPHIC evidence of limited parking spaces on a street in Carlow town was requested when a local woman pleaded guilty to parking in a disabled bay when she was summoned to the local district court last week.
Lisa Dempsey, 27 MacGamhna Road, Carlow pleaded guilty to parking in a disabled bay on MacGamhna Road and to failing to display a tax disc on 23 August 2023.
She also pleaded guilty to another offence of failing to display a tax disc on her car at Leighlin Road, Carlow on 30 September 2023.
Solicitor Joe Farrell told Judge Geraldine Carthy that 39-year-old Ms Dempsey had parked on a double-yellow line near her house because there was nowhere else to park as spaces were limited.
Judge Carthy pointed out that it was a disabled parking space mentioned on the summons.
She added that it was the second time that Ms Dempsey had pleaded guilty to parking in a disabled bay. When Mr Farrell reiterated that there was limited parking at her house, Judge Carthy said that she wanted photographic evidence of the situation.
She then adjourned the case until 23 September for the photographs to be taken.
