Tullow pair convicted of drug possession
Probation report ordered
TWO people from Tullow were convicted of drug possession in Carlow District Court after they were stopped by gardaí in the same car.
Ciaran Doyle, 5 Templeowen, Tullow and Shane Rooney, 20 Park Avenue, Phelim Wood, Tullow both pleaded guilty to possessing drugs when they were stopped by Garda Tommy Cleere at Tullow Road, Carlow on 29 November 2023.
Mr Doyle (21) pleaded guilty to possessing €20 worth of cannabis and the court heard that he had 47 previous convictions, none of which were for drug possession. He was convicted and fined €200.
Mr Rooney (25) pleaded guilty to having €140 worth of cocaine and his case was adjourned until 25 September for preparation of a probation report.
