Father and son sent forward to the circuit court

A FATHER and son from Graiguecullen were last week served with books of evidence and sent forward to Carlow Circuit Court when they appeared before the local district court.
Michael Slater Snr and Michael Slater Jnr, 11 Heather Hill Square, Graiguecullen were both charged with three counts of assault causing harm and with the production of an article during the course of a dispute, namely the wooden handle of an axe, arising from an incident that occurred at that address on 22 April.
No evidence was given in court about the incident that led the father and son to be charged with the offences.
Mr Slater Snr (60) and 35-year-old Mr Slater Jnr were both served with books of evidence in relation to the incident and were put on an alibi warning by Judge Geraldine Carthy.
The two men were remanded on bail on strict conditions, including that they have no contact with the injured parties and that they remain of sober habits.
They have to abide by a curfew and sign on at Carlow Garda Station, while they also have to remain at their given address.
Both men were also to make sure they were available for contact by phone by the gardaí.
They were then ordered to appear before the local circuit court, which is currently in session.
