PLANS for a major enhancement of Bunclody Community Park took a significant step forward recently with the signing of contracts for the park’s redevelopment.

Bunclody Recreational Committee warmly welcomed the signing of contracts to redevelop the park between Carlow Co Council and Garden Escapes, one of Ireland and the UK’s leading contractors in the area of playgrounds and outdoor spaces. The new-look park at Carrigduff will include the upgrade of the existing playground, the creation of a sensory garden and a community park with a green space.

Bunclody Recreational Committee has worked tirelessly over past four years to advance this project, so signing the contracts is seen as a hugely important milestone in bringing this project to fruition.

The group has been working with minister of state Jennifer Murnane O’Connor over the past four years, who also expressed her delight that the project had taken such an important step forward.

“It’s been a pleasure working with this very committed and dedicated group over the past four years, who have remained determined to see this ambitious project through to the end,” said minister Murnane O’Connor. “Thanks also to Carlow Co Council for their work on the project and Garden Escapes, who will carry out the work. Bunclody Community Park will be a wonderful amenity for the community and I very much look forward to seeing it open and enjoyed by all.”
