Christy retires from role after 25 years

VETERAN Traveller accommodation officer at Carlow Co Council, Christy Nolan, has retired after 25 years of community service.
Claire Hartley, the director of services in the housing division in which Christy worked, acted as MC at his retirement party. She wished Christy good health into the future as he parted ways with the council.
Over the past quarter of a century, Christy has made a significant contribution to housing services in Co Carlow and has been a valued member of the team. His commitment, experience and good humour will be greatly missed by colleagues across the organisation.
“Christy's role as Traveller liaison officer in Co Carlow was pivotal in connecting local Traveller communities to local government public services, including policing, thereby offering a holistic approach to improving the living conditions of Traveller families throughout the county,” said Carlow Garda Station Supt Anthony Farrell, who attended the event, along with Sgt Fiona Fitzpatrick.
