Carlow man (70s) dies in workplace accident
The work place accident occurred this morning
A MAN in his 70s has died in a workplace accident in Carlow.
Gardaí have confirmed to The Nationalist that emergency services were alerted to the accident at a premises near Tullow this morning.
A man in his 70s was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to the mortuary in University Hospital Waterford, where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) was notified and attended the scene. The agency confirmed to this newspaper that an investigation has been launched into the tragic death.
A file will be prepared for the coroner's court.
