Carlow male (17) dies in e-scooter crash

A 17-year-old Carlow man has died after falling from e-scooter he was driving along Carpenters Way in Carlow town. The incident occurred after 8:30pm on Monday night, 29 June.
A second male, an 18-year-old, was a passenger on the e-scooter and received minor injuries. Gardaí said both men were from Carlow town.
The driver was taken by ambulance to St Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny and was then transferred to Beaumont Hospital, where he later died.
Gardaí said road diversions are in place this morning and asked people to avoid the area.
They asked anyone who witnessed the collision or have information to support the garda investigation to contact Carlow Garda Station on 059 9136620, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
