Carlow community willing to tackle graffitti in their town

Tullow Tidy Towns get to work on graffitti in June

COMMUNITY groups in Tullow are willing to roll up their sleeves and tackle the issue of graffiti in their town – all they need is support.

That’s according to cllr Ben Ward, who raised the issue of graffiti in a number of locations in the town at a recent meeting of Tullow Municipal District.

The Fine Gael councillor said the local Tidy Towns group were willing to do the work of removing it but asked Carlow County Council to support their efforts by giving them the supplies to carry out the work.

He added that graffiti was a problem that affected everyone in the community and also “feeds into the larger issues of anti-social behaviour in the town and the need for CCTV”.

Cllr Ward's request was met positively by council officials.
