Bus Éireann to increase Expressway fares by 5%

The Route 4 Waterford to Dublin service runs seven times a day
CARLOW commuters face price hikes as Bus Éireann’s commercial coach service Expressway is set to increase fares by around 5% from the end of this month. The company said the fare changes, which come into effect on Monday 29 July, are being introduced to offset “the rising costs on the business” and to encourage customers to buy their tickets online. In addition, return tickets will no longer be sold onboard buses, but will be available online or at ticket vending machines.
The company’s Route 4 Waterford to Dublin service operates seven daily return buses serving Carlow, with the first departing as early as 6am. On average, fares will increase by 4.5%, with adult single fares increasing by a minimum of 50 cents. Customers who bought their tickets online in advance of travel will benefit from a range of best-value and discounted fares and may also guarantee their seat on their preferred service.
