Hard luck to Castledermot athlete Aaron Shorten, who has just competed in the Men’s 1500M T20 Final at the Paralympics in Paris, but unfortunately couldn’t claim a medal.

Supporters across Castledermot and further afield were cheering him on as he raced around the Stade de France in Paris this morning.

Aaron finished the race in seventh position, with a result of 4:02.71.

Gold was claimed by Great Britain’s Ben Sandilands, silver by Portuguese athlete Sandro Baessa, and bronze by Michael Brannigan from the USA.

Well done Aaron – you’ve done your country proud!
