A 61-year-old man has appeared in court charged with possession of €10.6 million worth of cocaine

A man in his 60s is expected to appear before a special sitting of Gorey District Court on Sunday evening.

Gardaí intercepted a heavy goods vehicle on the M9 in Co Kilkenny shortly after 10am on Tuesday and searched two business premises and a residential address in Waterford.

David Walshe has been living in and also collecting rents from room sharers in the house at Manor Walk, Rose Hill, the court heard.

The collision, involving a car, occurred at around 9.30am on the R448 at Smithstown, Mullinavat in Co Kilkenny.

At around 7.30pm on Saturday, September 21st, gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian on the N24 in Mooncoin village.
