The man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and held in a Garda station in Co Laois.

At approximately 5:25 pm, a man entered a commercial premises on Church Road and threatened staff with a knife. A sum of cash was stolen, and the male left the scene.

James Flynn, with an address in Ravensglen, Newry, Co Down was originally charged with a wider conspiracy to steal cars at various locations in the North East.

The men, aged in their 20s and juvenile, were detained at a Garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.

Gardaí searched a house on the eastern side of Galway City on Thursday, and arrested a man and woman, both in their 20s.

Cash and other items were stolen in the raid in the Castle Lane area at 7.55pm on Saturday.
