Met Éireann issued a yellow rain warning for Dublin and Wicklow.

The forecaster says temperatures will fall to as low as -3 degrees, with sharp frost and icy conditions, leading to potentially hazardous travelling conditions and disruption.

Met Éireann’s Andrew Doran-Sherlock has also warned that just because the rain has stopped, flooding still remains a risk.

Tuesday will be bright with sunny spells in the afternoon, with top temperatures of four to eight degrees.

Any frost will clear early Saturday morning to leave a dry day with widespread spells of low winter sunshine. It may, however, turn a little cloudier across eastern areas into the afternoon.

A nationwide status yellow wind warning will come into effect at 3am on Tuesday morning and run until 9pm.

The warning begins on Friday at 11 am until 5 pm.

The wettest November was in 2009 (278.8 mm), and the driest was in 1942 (33.2 mm).

The warning will come into effect at 2pm on Sunday until 9am on Monday.
