Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said he is “satisfied” his government’s bill is within the limitations of the constitution.

The Council of State will meet on Monday afternoon at Aras an Uachtarain.

Civil society groups have strongly criticised the bill, saying it was rushed through without proper debate.

Changes to family reunification provisions were not debated, the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission said.
