Yellow wind and rain warnings will come into force on Thursday.

A status yellow wind warning has been issued for Wexford, Wicklow, Dublin, Meath, and Louth.

The forecaster said areas of dense fog and freezing fog could affect visibility and create hazardous travelling conditions.

Roads in many parts of the country are treacherous on Monday morning after temperatures dipped to as low as minus six degrees in some places.
