Gerard Hayes (39) was stopped by gardaí at Mespil Road in Dublin on February 20th, 2024, following a targeted operation by gardaí in Midleton and Cobh.

Ms Justice Karen O'Connor set the sentencing hearing for October 20th this year and ordered a probation report.

The premises has been evacuated and the scene is preserved. The Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team has been requested to attend.
