Ships from the Global Sumud Flotilla had set sail for a third time on Thursday from southern Turkey, after earlier attempts ⁠to deliver aid to Gaza were intercepted by Israel in international waters.

They are demonstrating in reaction to up to 14 Irish citizens being detained by Israeli forces that are part of the Gaza aid flotilla.

A cross-party committee decided on Thursday night that a motion on the Gaza aid flotilla would be tabled on Tuesday.
