In a presentation to a high-powered infrastructure taskforce, Transport Infrastructure Ireland said constantly changing government policy was like working with “moving goalposts.”

Following a planning application submitted by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), MetroLink was approved by ACP through a railway order signed on September 30th.

The M50 is the most heavily used road in the country with close to 150,000 vehicles travelling several sections on an average day.

They are demonstrating in reaction to up to 14 Irish citizens being detained by Israeli forces that are part of the Gaza aid flotilla.

The news comes following severe damage to George's Docklands bridge by a recent fire in the area. 

An internal presentation from Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) said that light rail would be a key part of public transport in the capital for the future and plans for new lines should be accelerated.

TII logged 401 times when a motorist had a flat tyre or one of their tyres blew out while they were driving.

From January 1st, 2025, there will be a 10 cent increase for cars, buses, coaches, and lighter goods vehicles that do not have a tag or video account on the M50.

Some €329,000 worth of unpaid tolls were recorded on the national motorways and the Dublin Tunnel.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) approved these increases in tolls for 2024, in October 2023.

The results, which highlight fare evasion rates on public transport bus companies over an 18-month period to June 2023, were released under freedom of information legislation.
