A man in his 30s has appeared in court in connection with his death.

Michael O’Sullivan (55) of Cullencastle, Tramore, died last Friday at University Hospital Waterford (UHW) as a result of injuries he sustained when the motorbike he was travelling on collided with a jeep.

The incident occurred at Tinhalla, Co Waterford just outside Carrick-on-Suir town around 8.30pm on Tuesday night

The girl, who is now a teenager, settled a High Court action against the HSE for €120,000 over her treatment at University Hospital Waterford for a congenital squint in one of her eyes.

The call came as Esther Flynn’s grieving husband settled a High Court action against the HSE over her death three years ago.

It is understood that the car all three people were travelling in hit a tree.

The man has been named locally as Mathew ‘Mattie’ O’Brien (64) who was originally from Golden in Co Tipperary

A man, aged in his 50s, and a woman, aged in her late teens, were taken to University Hospital Waterford for treatment

The incident occurred at 11.30am on Tuesday in Ardfinnan.

A woman aged in her 60s, a passenger in one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He said over several years the child was brought on six or seven occasions to audiological services attached to University Hospital Waterford, but her hearing loss was not diagnosed until 2015.

The collision, involving a motorcycle, occurred near Taghmon, on a local road at Poulpeasty at around 6.50pm.

The statement from gardaí said: “His body has been removed to the mortuary in University Hospital Waterford, where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.”

The girl died following a fatal assault at a domestic residence in New Ross, Co Wexford on Sunday.

At around 7.30pm on Saturday, September 21st, gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a serious collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian on the N24 in Mooncoin village. 

The incident happened in St John’s Park at approximately 8:45am.

Colleagues have described her as a “one in a million” friend who was “wise beyond her years” and “sunshine to be around.”

Gardaí and emergency services attended the fire in New Ross in the early hours of Sunday.

The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in the village of Freshford, in the north of the county.

Gardaí responded to a call in relation to the little girl found unresponsive in her home in the Dungarvan area of the county.
