A letter signed by representatives of 30 local community, business and tourism interests, residents groups and sporting organisations in the Co Meath village, has been given to John Rogers, the former attorney general and local businessman who lives in Crewbane, Slane, pleading with him to withdraw the case.

The 27-year-old's remains were discovered on Glendoo Mountain, near the Lemass monument and close to Glencree/Enniskerry, Co Wicklow, on April 3rd, 1988.

An Bord Pleanala approved the project for the construction of a 3.5km bypass around the Meath village, including a dual carriageway as well as a 258 meter long bridge over the historic River Boyne.

Henry Mount Charles died last week at the age of 74.
