The court heard Dafaallah's prosecution stemmed from a continuing Garda operation resulting in 37 arrests.

Mr Parker was arrested on September 15th, 2023 at the passport office in South Mall in Cork.

He claimed to be a Liberian national and sought asylum under the false name John Augustine Sawyeer. He lived for several years in a Direct Provision centre in Killarney.
