There has been major flooding in Killybegs, Co Donegal, while flooding was also reported in Cork, Galway and Limerick.

The proposal for seven turbines measuring 583 feet met significant local opposition and was first refused by Carlow County Council and then by An Bord Pleanála on appeal.
