An adult male in his late teens was arrested and has been detained at a station in the Garda Southern Region under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

One of the two men, Darragh Manning (25), from Clyde Hill Mews, St Alphonsus Street, Limerick, filmed the savage attack, in which he was armed with a sword.

The vehicle failed to stop when directed by members of An Garda Síochána, and subsequently fled the scene, driving erratically towards Enniscorthy.
