Cian O’Brien, 20, from Gleann na Rí, Tower, Co Cork, lost his life while on a skiing trip to the French Alps at the weekend.

Cian O’Brien became ill on Sunday night when he was with friends in the well-known French ski resort of Alp d’Huez.

The Bulgarian Red Cross said initial information suggested he was part of a group taking photographs when he lost his balance and fell from a height of about 600 meters.
