The home was originally constructed as the final home for the late horse trainer, Vincent O'Brien and his wife, Jacqueline, after they moved from their equine training facility Ballydoyle.

The resident, Colm McGrath, claims the cemetery is “unsustainable, unnecessary and unviable” due to a dramatic reduction in the demand for burials in Dublin.
