The latest update for some locals in Ballinamore is that their power is expected to be restored by 9pm on Sunday.

Dr Catherine Sweeney said people in the west of Ireland are not seeing any action on the ground or "anyone coming to assist".

Power has been restored to 540,000 customers; however some 228,000 homes, farms and businesses remain without supply.
