Gardaí believe Kyran Durnin might have died aged six after it emerged he had not been seen since May 2022 when he was a pupil at a primary school in Dundalk.

A spokesperson said the results of the search would not be released for operational reasons.

Kyran, who would be eight years old if still alive, was reported missing in August and a murder investigation was launched in October.

An Garda Síochána have been unable to locate Kyran, who would now be eight years old.
