During a pre-inquest review on Tuesday, the court also heard that Ms Simpson’s family had requested the return of her mobile phone from police

Police initially believed that Ms Simpson had taken her own life in 2020.

The Police Ombudsman concluded that the initial investigation had ‘failed the Simpson family’

The broadcaster made a documentary on the death of the showjumper in 2020.

The victim has been named by police as 43-year-old Rachel Simpson.
