Detective Sergeant Christopher Cahill described the alleged actions of the accused as a “campaign of harassment".

Det Sgt Christopher Cahill said that Mr Blighe and another man were involved in a 'campaign of harassment' against the garda.

Desmond Perry, 72, of Coolronan, The Hill, Rathcoole, was charged with the harassment of the complainant at a business premises in Dublin from May 17th, 2023, until August 8th, 2025

Counsel described it as an unusual case where the applicants have alleged bullying and harassment; however, the senior officer's case was that he was acting in the course of his duty.

A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
