Cllr Alan Lawes' adult daughter was alone in the house and was left unhurt but badly shaken when she heard the crash of breaking glass at her home in Johnstown, Co Meath around 10pm.

Fireworks were discharged and missiles were thrown at uniform gardaí, who were forced to withdraw.

A Tricolour flag was also placed on the bonfire in Moygashel, on the outskirts of Dungannon.

A number of flags and banners were placed on the bonfire which was lit in Derry on Thursday night.
