Some of the highest speeds on Sunday included 138 km/h in a 50km/hr zone on Cashel Road, Cahir, Tipperary.

During the first 72 hours of the Easter road safety operation, in excess of 2,100 drivers were detected for speeding offences.

The road safety operation kicked off at 7am on Thursday and will run until 7am on Tuesday.

This happened on the N11, Newcastle, as part of the Garda Roads Policing Operation is taking place throughout the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend.
