At noon on Tuesday, emergency services responded to a flat at the Old Convent on Basin Street and discovered a man in his 60s unresponsive at the scene.

The incident happened in Cavan town on Friday night.

He is due to appear at a special sitting of Naas District Court later on Saturday.

She was seriously injured in the alleged attack at a home in Clonshaugh on Saturday.

A man in his 30s was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar after he was seriously assaulted on Oliver Plunkett St on August 5th.

A woman in her 40s was taken to hospital following the incident, where her condition has been described as stable

A second man, aged in his 60s, is due to appear in court charged in connection with the incident

The alleged attack happened at a home in Ardfert at around 7:30pm on Saturday morning.

The man, aged in his 40s, is in serious condition in Beaumont Hospital
