The hospital’s maintenance department contacted a pest control company to respond to the nest.

The incident took place in the Ballycastle area of Ballina on Monday evening.

The Asian hornet feeds on native bees and wasps, damaging biodiversity.

The swarm is located at the junction of Catherine Street and Roche’s Street.
