O'Malley Ireland Spirits Trading Ltd and Nonto DAC brought proceedings against Great Northern Distillery Ltd (GND), claiming they purchased some €60 million in whiskey from GND for around five years.

On Monday, Mr Justice Mark Sanfey was told both sets of proceedings had been resolved and could be struck out on consent between the parties.

A security for costs application is usually made when the defendants in the case apply to the court seeking to have their costs covered if they end up successfully defending the main proceedings.
