MORE THAN 1,000 people got out of bed early and walked from darkness into a breaking dawn on a recent Saturday morning in Carlow town for the annual Darkness Into Light walk.

Thousands participated in 5km walks across 197 locations in Ireland and abroad, raising funds for Pieta, the suicide and self-harm prevention charity.

Carlow’s official location starting point is St Mary's Academy CBS and this year’s grand marshal will be Carlow Rose Katie Ryan

CARLOW will once again come together in solidarity for the Darkness Into Light walk in aid of Pieta House on Saturday 10 May.
