Gardaí fear the Co Louth boy, who would now be eight years old, may have died in 2022

As a search and excavation operation at the former Durnin family home in Dundalk concluded on Thursday evening, with no major discoveries made, gardaí were expected to search another property connected to the family in Drogheda.

Garda Commissioner Drew Harris said there is a ‘particular element’ in the disappearance of schoolboy Kyran Durnin that is ‘difficult to comprehend’.

The eight-year-old was reported missing from his home in Drogheda, Co Louth, on August 30th and is presumed dead.

Taoiseach Simon Harris said developer BAM has a ‘track record in terms of the delivery of bridges’.

Two other women were also injured during the incident at a home in the Glenwood area of Dundalk shortly before 1pm this afternoon.
