Giving evidence to an inquest into the death of George Nkencho, a Garda said he ‘couldn’t believe’ what he was seeing.

Gloria Nkencho said that gardai outside her home either ‘did not listen or hear me’ as she tried to tell them her brother had mental health issues.

A dispatcher for armed gardaí said he did not see information relayed by a colleague that Mr Nkencho had mental health issues.

Anti-racism demonstrators staged a protest outside the Department of Justice in Dublin.

George Nkencho, 27, died outside his home in December 2020, after being shot multiple times by members of a Garda armed support unit.
