The gardaí found a "large-scale cannabis cultivation factory" during the search, and cannabis plants with an estimated street value of more than €750,000 were seized.

At Ennis District Court on Wednesday, Brendan O’Mara (62) of An Tulach, Summerhill, Meelick, Co Clare, was making his fifth court appearance concerning the Garda seizure of an estimated €10 million in cannabis at Mr O’Mara’s south east Clare home on May 7th.

Both the man and woman are currently detained in garda stations in North Dublin under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

The searches were part of ongoing operations targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Cork city, a garda statement said.

As part of intelligence-led operations, Revenue officers and Gardaí seized 11.2kgs of the drug in a joint operation.

Revenue Customs Officers seized 22.3kg of cannabis, and the man was arrested by gardaí.

Gardaí attached to the Dublin Crime Response Team searched the property as part of ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of illegal drugs and related criminal activity in the Dublin Metropolitan Region

She has been charged with unlawful importation and possession of cannabis and having it with intent to supply, contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act.
