There had not been any comment until Mr Eljuboori was safe home on Irish soil as there had been “hiccups” at the weekend.

Yasser Eljuboori was detained by Iraqi police earlier this week after he tried to board a flight back to Dublin following a trip to visit his mother.

Laura Wickham told RTÉ radio’s Morning Ireland that her husband Yasser Eljuboori had been travelling back to Ireland, on his Irish passport, when he was detained at the airport.
